I have wanted a shot like this for a few years now, but honestly whenever fall arrives, I get so immersed in shooting that I have always forgotten about it only to kick myself in the butt afterwards.Yesterday we had some time to study Fern Valley in Rocky Mountain National Park for awhile, and it dawned on me, that it would be a perfect chance to try this technique, something which I call “tilt and drop” pretty much. Setting up the shot, I looked for a good stand that had excellent vertical lines and once I found that, I set my camera on the tripod, focused, raised the center column, and took the shot…dropping the center column and tilting the camera in a forward and downwards motion. The result is what you see here.
