Fall in Colorado means many things, and one of the biggest is the Elk rut! Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. These are a couple of ‘outsiders’ as I call them, on the fringes of usually a very large bull and his harem, they are always looking for a chance to run in and steal a few female for themselves. They aren’t small by any means, but they aren’t big enough to challenge king sized Bulls either, for females. There was a group of 3 of them actually, and the large bull would come in and run them off, at one point however it looked as though all 3 were going to gang up on him and take him out.
